Rain Detection Skip
What database do the weather stations come from? I have a Netatmo station with a rain sensor that I have added as a PWS on Weather Underground but I don't see it listed on the map as an option.
In the meantime I have tried selecting several different stations close to me but rain detection doesn't seem to be working... I set the Rain Sensor rule to skip watering for 7 days after a rain event, but even after a heavy rain the other day the schedule shows that Smart Watering will still occur two days from now. Does the rain sensor skip only work with a hardwired sensor and not data from local weather stations?

Hi Jared,
Thank you for contactin us.Our weather data comes from Aeris Weather and if you have a PWS, you need to send the weather data to PWS Weather (https://www.pwsweather.com) in order to be listed on the map.
There are 2 kinds of rain skips, using a hardwired rain sensor (Rain Sensor Skip) or using the "chance of rain" forecast data (Chance of Rain). If you choose "Rain Sensor Skip", then you need a hardwired rain sensor. If you choose "Chance of Rain" and you think the forecast is not accurate, please let us know by sending a ticket via support@aeonmatrix.com, then we will check the weather station you picked.
Best Regards,
Joseph

Hi Joseph,
Thanks for the quick reply! What I was hoping to do is if the linked weather station reported rainfall to activate the rain sensor skip for several days the same as if it were hardwired. The forecast data I'm getting is great and has been accurate but it only can skip that one day--it doesn't allow for a skip for several days like the hardwired sensor option does. Perhaps this could be added as a feature under the rain sensor skip to also trigger based on the data received from the weather station as an option?
Thanks for the info about the PWS data--I will try to get my station added to this database!

Sounds great--thanks! My property has some rocky areas that hold water for many days after a rain, although I'm sure the "soil moisture" setting should help with that without having to do a manual skip. I've only had my Yardian installed for a week or two so I'm still acclimating to all of the Smart Watering Program features!
I added my weather station as a PWS on pwsweather.com but it does not show on the map or list in the Yardian app. How often does your database sync with PWSWeather? This is my station: https://www.pwsweather.com/obs/KCASPRIN94.html
